Friends, Parents and Teachers Association (FPTA)

 

Welcome to the FPTA of Northill C of E VA Lower School

 

The Northill Friends, Parents and Teachers Association is a group of Parents/Carers and staff who hold social events to raise money for the school. These funds are then put to use to enhance the education and learning opportunities for the children in school.

 

We regularly hold cake sales, movie nights and mufti-days along with Christmas and Summer raffles, plus many more exciting and diverse events throughout the year. 

 

During this academic year (2018-19) we have successfuly raised funds and purchased 10 IPads as well as paid for educational visits to the school and contributions towards school trips and Christmas lunches.In the recent past we have also paid over £1,000 for books to support the schools' phonics scheme and more than £200 for new outdoor play equipment.

 

We are always looking for helpers at our events, so if you are interested, or would like further information, then please speak to our core commitee:

We have a Facebook page (Northill FPTA) which is regularly updated with coming events.  We also use the notice board outside school to advertise.

 

We are a fun and friendly group and would love to see new faces at our meetings.

 

The committee normally only meets about three times a year and is a fun group to get involved with – for as little or as much time as you can spare. All members of the school community are already members of the FPTA however, if you would like to join the FPTA as a committee member, or can help now and then at events, please speak to a member of the Committee, you will be made very welcome. Any suggestions for new fundraising events would also be appreciated and if you have any skills, connections or ideas that will help with our fundraising, please let us know. Some of you may work for companies who would be willing to donate raffle prizes for events or could maybe offer match-fundraising. The more people who get involved, the less we all have to do! 

 

We let you know what’s coming up by putting notices on the FPTA noticeboard by the school front door and also by sending fliers home in the children’s book bags, so please keep a look out for these. Our events will also appear on the school calendar on this website.

 

Our next Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on: 

Thursday 19th September at 3:30pm

This will be held in the school hall. All community members are welcome to attend this meeting.
